1. How many External National Moot Court Competitions can a team take part in with the Internal Ranking Rounds ranks? Ans. Every Mooting Team, with an INRR and ISMRR rank, shall be permitted to represent School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) at 2 External National Moot Court Competitions a year and 1 Scheduled International Moot Court Competitions a year subject to their ranks. A team is permitted to represent the School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) in only one External National Moot Court Competition per semester. 2. Duration of Mooting Cycle for Odd & Even Semester (Internal Ranking Rounds) Ans. The mooting cycle for Odd semester begins from the date of release of Internal Ranking Rounds to 31st January 2021. The Mooting Cycle for Even Semester begins from 1st February 2021 to the day before the release of Internal Ranking Rounds for academic year 2021-2022. 3. What is the time limit for withdrawal from the allotted Moot competition? Ans. Each Mooting Team that has been allotted an External Moot shall be provided with a period of 24 hours from the time of allotment to communicate to the MCS through [email protected] of its inability to take part in the allotted External Moot to not exhaust their rank for the particular Mooting Semester but if the Mooting Team conveys its inability to participate beyond a period of 24 hours, it is deemed to have exhausted its rank for the particular Mooting Semester and accepted the National Moot allotment. 4. What should be the course of action if one/ or more participants have inability to participate in the allotted moot? Ans. Such mooter(s) must provide a No Objection Certificate (“NOC”) as provided under Annexure - (5) of the MCS Code. The additional Mooter(s) to the Mooting Team, must not have exhausted his/ her rank for the particular Mooting Semester, should also submit a NOC from his/her Mooting Team, original INRR team, as provided under Annexure - (6). 5. 6. What documents need to be submitted ‘VIRTUALLY’ post successful participation in an External Moot Competition? Ans. Find the document’s skeleton in the MCS Code. It is mandatory to send a report [email protected] comprising: 1. An official photographic evidence at the event venue, 2. Duly filled “Yellow Form”, 3. Photocopies of Travel Details, 4. Photocopies of Participation and Achievement Certificates, 5. Original copy of the Permission Letter, 6. Photocopy of the duly filled “Registration Form” of the National Moot. 7. How is a particular External Moot allotted to the Teams based on their Rank? (Procedure of Preferential Allotment)? Ans. Preferential Allotment of External Moots works on the basis of the rank secured by a particular team. For Instance, if Team X with Rank 5 and Team Y with Rank 10 have applied for a particular Moot (‘A’ Moot and ‘B’ Moot), then accordingly, the A Moot will be allotted to team with a higher Rank i.e. Team X - Rank 5 as per their preference and further Team Y will be allotted their 2nd Preference of External Moot Court Competition i.e. B Moot. 8. What is the New Coaching System introduced in the MCS Code 2020-21? What will be the Role of Coaches? Ans. Teams comprising of 1st 2nd & 3rd Years taking part in an External Reserved National Moot Court Competitions will be assigned student Coaches who shall in turn be students of 4th & 5th Years having a minimum experience of 2 external moot court competitions. Coaches are expected to provide the students with direction on how they must proceed with research, drafting and pleading. The objective of providing coaches is to train the students and provide them with a platform for learning and engaging with seniors who have ample experience in mooting in order to facilitate quality mooting for novice mooters. 9. How can Students going for an External National Reserved Moot apply for Team Coaches? Ans. The teams that wish to apply to be guided by a student coach for a Moot, must send in such request, duly filled, to the mail to [email protected]
